Our formula
consists of FSC-certified natural wood pulp cellulose – the same
material as
toilet paper, so it breaks down more rapidly than other
eco-brands made of
cotton or bamboo that cannot be flushed.

Materials Measuring Up
bamboo
Bamboo is touted as an eco-friendly alternative, but it takes 4-6 weeks to biodegrade in landfill. Worse yet, it can't be flushed as the bamboo fibers don't break down in water.
Cotton
Cotton fibers take a full year to biodegrade in landfill. Often, wipes marketed as "cotton" have synthetic materials like rayon and certain types of flexible plastics blended in, making their breakdown time even longer and making their waste more deleterious to the environment.
Plastic blends
The traditional recipe for a wet wipe - plastic fibers - has been banned in certain countries as it's considered a single-use plastic. These wet wipes take 100 years to break down, and inevitably release millions of micro-plastics in our waterways.
